Darcy is a Provisional Psychologist with over 25 years’ experience in the education sector, working with neurodivergent children and teens, as well as those with a diverse range of learning, behavioural, and social-emotional needs, alongside their caregivers and support networks. His background includes leadership positions in Inclusive Education, a decade as an Advisory Visiting Teacher for Autism, and facilitation with Positive Partnerships. He brings a depth of understanding that spans home, school, and community settings, with a strong focus on practical, meaningful outcomes.

In his role as a Provisional Psychologist, Darcy supports children, teens and young adults across a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, school-related stress, and overall wellbeing. He works with both neurodivergent clients and the broader community.

Darcy takes a person-centred, neurodiversity-affirming, and strengths-based approach. He draws on evidence-based frameworks including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. He values collaboration with caregivers and professionals and tailors support to each client’s goals, environment, and stage of life.

Away from work, Darcy enjoys a round of golf, cheering on the Brisbane Broncos, and spending time with his family.

Frequently asked questions

  • How can I make an appointment?

We place a strong emphasis on ensuring the right fit for each individual.  To get started, please email Darcy directly with a brief overview of the service you are seeking.

  • What are your costs?

Our costs are $190/hour. Sessions are typically 50-60 minutes.

  • Can I use NDIS funding?

Yes, our Provisional Psychologist can see self and plan managed NDIS clients.

However, you do not need NDIS funding to access our services. We welcome all enquiries and work hard to keep our prices affordable and our services flexible so that families without government funding can still access the support they need.

  • Can I use a Mental Health Care Plan?

Mental Health Care Plans (MHCPs) provide access to Medicare rebates for sessions with registered and clinical psychologists. However, rebates are not available for sessions with Provisional Psychologists.

It's important to know that rebates can reduce costs, however, there is usually still a gap fee, which varies between providers.

To keep our services accessible, we offer a competitive hourly rate to help minimise out-of-pocket expenses.

You do not need a GP referral or MHCP to access our services.

  • Do you provide assessments & reports?

Yes. We offer a range of assessments and measures to support understanding of a client’s profile and to inform the diagnostic process where appropriate. This may include cognitive and adaptive assessments, behavioural and emotional screening tools, and measures relating to attention, executive functioning, and social communication.

As Darcy is a Provisional Psychologist, all assessments and reports are completed under the supervision of a Board-approved supervisor and are reviewed and co-signed as part of this process.

Information sheets outlining the associated costs for each type of assessment are available — just contact us and we’ll be happy to provide the details.

  • What if I can't attend?

MCT has a cancellation policy in place to ensure we can best support the families who need our services. If you call, email, or text to cancel more than 48 hours before your session, there is no fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours incur the full session fee, in line with current APS and NDIS guidelines.

We understand that unexpected things can happen and occasional cancellations are sometimes unavoidable. However, if cancellations become frequent, we’ll be in touch to chat about whether this is the right time to continue. Consistency is key to progress, and we want to make sure each family is getting the full benefit of their support.
