About the Film
Directed by Emmy® Award-winning father-son duo Samuel and Dan Habib, The Ride Ahead is a powerful and deeply personal film exploring life as a young adult with disability.
Samuel Habib, who lives with a rare genetic disorder, uses a wheelchair and a communication device. In this film, he shares his journey into adulthood and makes us really reflect with his statement:
"No one tells you how to be an adult – let alone an adult with disability."
He meets and learns from some of the most influential disability rights advocates in the world, making this film both inspiring and thought-provoking. This is not just a film – it’s a call to action for families, educators, allies, and especially young people with disability, to explore self-advocacy and the possibilities for a full and included adult life.
