Fiona Goodall

Autism Consultant

Owner & Director of Making Connections Toowoomba

“I’m here to make sure every young person in the MCT family feels seen, heard, and celebrated for exactly who they are.”

Why Fiona Started MCT

After decades working across state, government, independent, and not-for-profit education sectors, Fiona saw a clear pattern: neurodivergent youth bring vibrancy, uniqueness, and fresh perspectives to their communities, yet many still struggle to make and keep connections with like-minded peers. She founded Making Connections Toowoomba to utilise her skills as a Special Education Teacher specialising in autism, to create spaces where those connections can grow — places where young people learn strategies and feel understood, valued, and celebrated for exactly who they are.

Experience & Qualifications

Fiona is a Special Educator with over 20 years’ experience in specialist autism settings, special education, and mainstream schools in Australia and overseas. She holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Special Education, is a certified facilitator of the PEERS® Programs, certified Peaceful Kids Mindfulness & Positive Psychology programs, and a certified LEGO®-Based Therapist. She is also a Registered Meditation Teacher with the Meditation Association of Australia and is currently studying a Diploma of Counselling.

She is also a part of the Positive Partnerships Delivery Team, delivering evidence-informed workshops across Queensland for caregivers and educators of autistic children.

Outside of Work

At home, Fiona is a proud mum to two teenage boys (who do their best to keep her up to date with Gen Z slang), enjoys live music with her husband, and spends time in the garden with Oskar the dog — a friendly face well known in the neighbourhood for his wandering adventures!
